As the authors say in their introductory note in this magnificent essay that “came into society" in 1995, a year devoted to the writer from Rianxo by the Real Academia of Galicia: "Rafael Dieste belongs to that exceptional aristrocracy of writers who are the protagonist of two certainly contraditory situations: on the one hand, his publishing presence, his knowledge and the dissemination of his work are unquestionably tiny,; on the other hand, and not only by virtue of his vital peripecia but above all of his high intellectual and literary significance, Dieste is already one of those indispensable authors in any worthy census and an literate oxygenating in the two idiomatic and cultural fields where his production becomes relevant: the one that expreses himself in the Galician language and the one that does it in Englishâ€.
A glance at the highlights of its index, tells us that, despite its specification, derived from the informative and synthetic objective sought by the authors in the essay, this study represents an essential material to meet Dieste and the itch of curiosity to get closer, perhaps to the most important, his work.
