This guide tries to make known orchids to everyone interested in this little treasure of the Galician nature. In the first part, aspects such as its morphology, biology or distribution are put forward. These will let us acquire a global vision about them and will make it easier to use and understand the keys and subsequent descriptions. Genus and species present in Galicia that are described later can be determined with the simple identification keys. The cards of each species comprise plentiful information, including its description, differentiation from other similar orchids, habitat, distribution, blooming, mechanisms of pollination and habitual pollinators, level of protection, etc.

All this is accompanied by distribution maps of councils and a complete selection of photographies, both general and in detail, that will make it easier to identify species. The scientific terminology that appears in the texts is explained in the glossary and, finally, some bibliographic references are included, as well as websites where it is possible to find more information about wild orchids of Iberian Peninsula, Europe and other parts of the world.
