This guide, which includes the 556 most common species in Galicia, is particularly important for the Galician Mycology because it mixes in the same work the experience inherited of our ancestors and masters with the new last generations of mycologists, trained professionally in our universities.
The distribution of species along the work is different from what is usually seen. It is divided into ecosystems, so that when you pass through a forest or land packed with birchs you can go to the pages that make reference to these which will facilitate a visual identification.
The guide, aimed at both the professionals and amateurs of mycology, follows also two maxims, one of popular knowledge, ''only what is known can be appreciated and valued'', and the other by our great storyteller Álvaro Cunqueiro, ''…saying tortledove and birch and dorna and fountain… makes me owner of the tortledove, the birch and dorna and fountain…'', to indicate that only exists and we possess what has a name, what we know.
